Excursion to the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich
The Tibet Collections of Heinrich Harrer and Peter Aufschnaiter
Sunday, 5 May 2019, 14.00 til 17.00.
Learning outside of the classroom enables the students to be inspired by the subjects on a different level. We wished for them to experience and learn more about the history and culture of our homeland Tibet. Through observation, recognition and understanding the display objects in a museum, the students learn the material easily and in an enjoyable manner. Therefore we organised a tour of the exhibition of Heinrich Harrer and Peter Aufschnaiter with the curator of the Museum of Ethnography of the University of Zurich, Dr. Martina Wernsdörfer. After the private conducted tour of the exhibition, the students were allowed to complete worksheets in a separate teaching room.
Sechsilüüte Children's Parade
Under the auspices of the committee "Weltoffenes Zürich" nahmen am at least 50 students of the Tibetan Schools Zurich, Horgen and Rapperswil took part in the Children's Parade of Sechseläuten celebration on 7. April 2019. Thanks to great cooperation with the sponsor GSTF (Swiss-Tibetan Friendship Association) the event was a great success.
A few members of the Tibetan Folklore Ensemble of TCSL took care of the musical mood for the event.
Parking places in front of the Blumenfeld School
From the 2018/2019 school-year parking in front of the school is no longer permitted. Offenders will be fined by the city police. We therefore appeal to all parents who bring their children to school by car, to park elsewhere, such as in the nearby parking building in the Migros Zentrum, Zürich-Affoltern, near the Affoltern train station.

We are looking for a new teacher for the lower grades (Class 1 and 2)
Due to her employment situation, Gen Ngodup Tsomo la is leaving us. We thank her for her all the dedication and help she has given the Tibetan school and wish her all the best for her future.
